Good morning all. Hope you are having a beautiful morning. Today’s Word of the Day Hate, is a bit harsh and strong. What does that word mean to you ? What kind of energy is behind that word ? Can one Love and Hate at the same time ? What does it really mean to you when you say you hate something and what’s behind it ? Is hate beneficial in anyway? Can Hate hurt others including ourselves? What is the opposite of hate ? How do you achieve it?
“Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers and overwhelms all transgressions [forgiving and overlooking another’s faults].”
Proverbs 10:12 AMP
Do you realize how often you say hate, including but not limited to the hate we let fly in the air ?
“The one who says he is in the Light [in consistent fellowship with Christ] and yet habitually hates (works against) his brother [in Christ] is in the darkness until now.”
1 John 2:9 AMP
Some Example’s of our flying hate are:
I hate this song
I hate this food
I hate that taste
I hate this flight
I hate this holiday
I hate this town
Some flying hate that is even more detrimental:
I hate you
I hate him and/or her
I hate me
I hate this home
I hate God
I hate my spouse
I hate my Ex
I hate that pet
I hate the ground XYZ walks on
I hate my life
I hate work
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”
Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV
How much power is behind those statements? What are some of the possible effects of this energy?
Hate
“It has a negative impact on our physical health in several ways: it increases blood pressure, heart rate, and stress level. It can also weaken our immune systems and increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other deadly diseases.
It affects our mental health causing anxiety, depression, insomnia and concentration problems. It can also increase the risk of suicide”.
Vocal Media Written by Y. Villaverde
““But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,”
Luke 6:27 ESV
The effects of Hate are much more than the quoted source above but in all reality the list of effects on ourselves and/others is probably beyond limitation or anything we will ever comprehend.
How do we go the opposite direction of Hate : Love, Prayer, Community ( Could potentially include therapy), Compassion, Care, Empathy, Forgiveness , Mindfulness, Self Reflection, Recognition. Progress Not Perfection One Step at a time, One Prayer at a time .
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.”
Ephesians 4:31 NIV
