Think About Yourself Thursday with Compassion

Good afternoon and welcome to another Blessed Think About Yourself Thursday. Today we will combine Think About Yourself Thursday with the Word of the Day which is Compassion. So this week for Think About Yourself Thursday please ask yourself when was the last time you showed someone compassion and how ? Two parts then ask yourself when was the last time someone showed you compassion? Did you see it at the time ? Did you recognize it and show recognition? Was there any display of Gratitude? Do you need to extend Gratitude now ?

”Do not complain against one another, believers, so that you will not be judged [for it]. Look! The Judge is standing right at the door.“

‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

”As an example, brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord [as His messengers and representatives].“

‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

”Therefore, confess your sins to one another [your false steps, your offenses], and pray for one another, that you may be healed and restored. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].“

‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Compassion is not always easy to show and a good majority of time we are in pain and/ or discomfort from the persons actions and/or inactions of the one we need to show compassion towards. When we are suffering we have a heightened ability to empathize with others is this coincidental? myself I don’t think so , and believe it is the way we were created.

We were created out of Love and to extend Love and we need to show Compassion all the more when someone is hurting. Even, if they caused us our pain.

Love one and Another. We have no idea what the hand of the other person we need to show compassion is holding and they very possibly do not as well.

“Instead of comparing problems or judging who has it worse, we can choose to be a blessing”.

When we extend compassion to others and ourselves for that we very well may be the only person that has . Extending Compassion including to ourselves lets one know they are seen and matter.

The reason why I mention Compassion towards ourselves is because sometimes the One person we do not show Compassion and Grace to is ourselves. Our Loving Father has nothing but Compassion, Grace , and Love for us and we should do the same for others and ourselves.

No One wants to see anyone in pain including the one that potentially inflicted it on you . So we are there for them as much as we can be and without compromising boundaries and Bless Them . If you have to show Compassion and Grace from a far then that’s what needs to done and Bless, Pray from a far. Your Father will hear the prayers and is already aware of everything that either has happened and/or will . He is a Loving Caring Father and we should be as well. I Love each and every one of you, including those that it has to be done from a far. Have a Blessed Day.

Dear God, thank you for the gift of compassion. I know that when I go through storms in my life, I have an increased ability to be compassionate to others. Help me tap into that and use it to bless those around me. Amen.

God, thank You for the gift of Your Spirit. Your Spirit is always with me, shaping my character. Today, I want to make an intentional decision to trust You by allowing Your Spirit to guide me. Please change the way I think and act so that my whole life revolves around You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I am so thankful that You don’t hold me to a standard of perfection. When I make a mistake, You accept and forgive me. You never give up on me—thank You. When I confess my wrongdoing, please help me avoid making the same mistakes again. I want to live a life that honors You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I know that You are good and wise. But sometimes it’s hard for me to trust Your plan over my own. Please help me! Take control of my anxious thoughts and fill me with Your wisdom. Thank You that I don’t have to navigate this life alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lord, every day, I find myself surrounded by noise. So many voices clamor for my ear. Help me to hear You above all others, and give me the wisdom to assess the information around me. Ground my knowledge in the truth of Your word so that my steps may be sure. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The word of God fortifies us from the attempts of the enemy, and keeps us firmly rooted in the firm foundation of His love.
