What does holy living look like?
According to the teachings in the New Testament, it’s living in accordance with God’s Word. Holiness means saying “no” to wrong actions, and seeking forgiveness when we do make mistakes. It looks like putting aside any selfish interests in order to pursue the good plans God has for the world.
The writer of the letter to the Hebrews understood that this wasn’t easy, so he encouraged his readers to “run with perseverance” while stripping off anything that might slow them down or trip them up (Hebrews 12:1-2).
The author of Hebrews then encourages his readers to be holy, to live according to God’s commands and His ways. Holiness gives others a window to see God in our lives. It also gives us the opportunity to love others the way Jesus would love them. As we pursue a relationship with God, the way we interact with people should change.
The author of Hebrews describes God as the God of peace (Hebrews 13:20). If our desire is to obey God and be like Him, then we should make every effort to live in peace with everyone.
When we live with anger or bitterness toward others, we’re unable to show them the love of Jesus. A love that sets us apart and shows off God’s glory.
Living at peace with people does not mean that we have to love everyone the same way or blindly accept misconduct. But, it does mean that we make an effort wherever possible to generously seek wholeness, reconciliation, and forgiveness—actions that lead to peace.
Take a moment today to consider your relationships with others. Are your relationships marked by anger or bitterness, or are you living at peace with others? If there is someone in your life you have not forgiven, make an effort to begin to make things right. Consider how you can live a life that aligns with God’s Word, so that others can see God working within you.
God, You invite me into a peaceful relationship with You where I can be fully known and loved. You also invite me to pursue peace with others around me. Please help me to approach my relationships with grace and wisdom. Grant me the knowledge to recognize when I should speak and when I should listen as I pursue peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
As His children, we have no reason to fear. God is our God. He is for us. He stands with us through every challenge that we face. He holds us when we cry and He rejoices with us when we celebrate. He is ever-present in our lives. The love of God is relentless.
When we are faced with opposition, we have no reason to fear because God is truly with us. He has gone before us and cleared a path for our lives. The challenges and obstacles we face should not be held with high regard because God is bigger than them.
In times where you feel afraid, find refuge in God’s arms. He is always ready to assure you. He is eager to comfort you. You can never go wrong with the Father’s love. It will always be there as He watches over you, guides you, and protects you.

Daily Prayers
esus, because of Your death and resurrection, I am part of Your body—the global Church. Help me to take the role I play in it seriously. The choices I make reflect the way Your Church is perceived. So use me to bring Your hope, love, and joy to the world. Use me to build others up. Bring revival to Your people, so that way Your Body represents You authentically and powerfully. Amen.
Lord, help me to dwell in the awareness of Your goodness and mercy each day. May I be a vessel of Your love to others. Open my eyes to recognize Your leading in every circumstance, and teach me to follow after You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Jesus, You have revealed Yourself to me in Your life and in Your word. Yet still, I confess that I sometimes try to make You want I want You to be instead of seeing You as You really are. Please guide me in Your truth, so that I may know and proclaim You faithfully, and I may live according to Your truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
God, just as You have forgiven me unconditionally, You are asking me to forgive others. Please help me to do that. Fill me with humility and empathy, and help me to see other people the way that You see them. Show me how to love people the way that You do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
