The Act of Getting into Action is One Step at a Time

Good afternoon Happy Monday to you all. Yesterday was the perfect opportunity to be in Community were you? Today’s Word of the Day is Acts . What does that word mean to you individually?

Acts according to Vocabulary.com is defined as:

Act is both a noun and a verb. You can perform an act of kindness or violence. Or, you can act in a play. People who take on roles and perform them are actors. Likewise, plays, operas, and ballets are broken down into acts. You may have seen references to Shakespeare’s plays, such as “Act I, Scene IV.” Comedians refer to their shows as acts. Other performers, from magicians to lion tamers, sometimes do the same: a magic act is a magician’s show.

I have noticed the Act of me putting pen to paper so to speak after not writing for a few days seems to change the format in how the words come to me . Is this a bad thing? not necessarily but a definite difference and some of you have probably noticed it in the daily messages. I think it was explained here why we are now including a definition from a source other than myself on what the Word of the Day means after constructive comments from a family member. Choosing to get the writing out today is an Act. If I made the choice not to get the writing out today would also be an Act for me . Choosing not to do something is an act of inaction.

Are the Acts we perform daily in line with the Greater good of our Higher Power? Or are they in the Greater good of ourselves and/or People pleasing? Acts can be negative and positive. War, Terror Attacks, School Shootings, Sexual Abuse are all violent Acts portrayed by others. The world is filled with individuals performing Acts daily not in line with the word of God . We may choose to turn to Acts that are negative and down right self destructive to ourselves and others when we are performing the Act of running . We may Act out to avoid all be it temporary the pain by turning to Addiction, Sexual infidelity, Promiscuity, Drugs, Alcohol, Food, Excessive Exercise, Gambling, Greed and other self destructive behaviors . It is imperative to understand the Act of turning to those things to avoid the pain will only be temporary which in turn will create more pain. It may stay away but not for long and we are right back in the Act of Acting out and this time it requires more than the last for a little relief. What is the Act of Acting out costing you ? What is it contributing to? What are running from by performing the Act of Acting out ? Who are you hurting by Acting out? Act and Action In themselves can be Positive and Negative. How we choose to Act is up to each of us.

“The Energy we put out when Acting out is not something we can get back. What are the effects on others when we Act out ? Do you care what the effect of others is?

Today, I am open and willing to feel what I need to feel. I am willing to stop my compulsive behaviors. I am willing to let go of my denial. I am willing to feel what I need to feel to be healed, healthy, and whole.

When we make negative comments to others online or in person what did that Act just cause? Do we know the cost/toll of it on someone else? Did the Act of being judgmental and/or passing a bias on someone make us feel better ? Again what did it do to the other person? Did we reach out and try to be truly supportive to the other party or just flex our muscles to others ? Please consider your Acts by asking yourself are they helping or hindering not only yourself but others? Are your Acts Fruits of the Spirit? An Act we all can perform daily is coming from a place of Love. Be Love. Radiate Love. The Act of getting into Action is one step at a time. Love you all have a Blessed night.
